Easter

This Easter weekend we celebrate Jesus is alive. Hallelujah!!

What a week – a bit like being on a rollercoaster. The highs of the celebration of Palm Sunday, the depths of sadness and disappointment of Good Friday and now Jesus is alive… what great news.

If you want to remind yourself of all the events of Holy Week this is a really good animation in Lego.

The Jesus storybook bible has a lovely retelling of Mary coming to the tomb that first Easter.. Have a look

Some questions to think about together

  • I wonder how the women felt as they journeyed to the tomb that first Easter morning
  • I wonder how they felt when they saw the angel. Did they understand what the angel was saying?
  • I wonder where you are in this story
  • What were the surprises the women found?
  • How do you feel when you think about what happened? Is this news worth sharing or does it worry you that it sounds crazy?

Activities to do together

Do you enjoy escape rooms… here’s one to do at home: Free Barabbas – an escape with a twist.

How would you like an Easter Treasure hunt?

Easter prayers

Mini egg sweets

1 For each colour egg, decide on one category of things to thank God for.

2 Take it in turns to take a mini egg and thank God for something in that category before eating your egg.

Prayers can be aloud or silent.

Cadbury’s mini eggs come in four colours, giving you four categories, eg:

pink: people
purple: the world
yellow: Springtime things
white: things about Jesus
