Differences: Sunday 7th November

This week we are thinking about differences and broken relationships. Sometimes we think about things differently to others. Rather than thinking we are right and they are wrong try asking questions, be curious about what the other person thinks. Try and see things through their eyes.

Jesus told a parable about The lost son. You can find it in Luke 15: 11-32. Read the story and try being curious about how each character feels.

  • Why did the older brother feel annoyed with his brother?
  • How did the Father feel when the younger son took the money and left home?
  • How do you think the younger son felt, with no money, nowhere to live and nothing to eat?
  • How do you think the younger son felt when his Father welcomed him back home?
  • I wonder why the Father welcomed the younger son home
  • I wonder what this parable tells us about God
  • What can we learn from this parable about our differences?

Time to think and talk to God about today’s story.

Jesus taught us that we need to love others like he loves us. That is hard but if we ask God to help us he will…
