Epic Explorers Jesus died in our place: Sunday 16th Jan

Today we pick up the next adventure as Epic Explorers. We’re finding out all about Jesus’ death. How he died in our place. We found out last time that we don’t treat God the way we should and we all have sin in our hearts. Only Jesus has the power to forgive sin and rescue us, restoring the broken relationship between us and God that our sin creates.

Jesus took the punishment we deserve for our sin and through Jesus’ death, there is now a way for us to be forgiven friends of God.

Story

You’ll find today’s story in Mark 15. It’s a hard story to read- God planned for Jesus to die, it was a shocking sight – Jesus didn’t deserve to be punished but he chose to die in our place so we could be rescued. It was a happy day because through Jesus death, He did something amazing and wonderful. And it didn’t end there. Jesus had promised to come back to life on the third day…. but we’ll be thinking about that next time!
