A summer of Psalms (August 2021)

All through the summer our services are looking at a different Psalm each week: Psalm 23, 1, 88, 19, 121 and 150. The Psalms describe a whole range of emotions, from joy and wonder to sadness and regret. You might like to look at them together – maybe write them out and illustrate them, put them up on the fridge, choose a favourite verse to learn….

Rather than putting up new material for each week this page will have ideas of things you can do all through the summer holidays. You can do them in any order, as many times as you want to. The material is linked to Psalms and may or may not link in with the Psalms we are covering on a sunday morning.

Together at home have produced 2 Psalm walks as well as an activity sheet for Psalm 23.

If you click on the picture below it will take you to the website with all the resources. I’ve included 3 from the pack here for you to download and use, The colour trail, the Wandering and Wondering through Ps 23 and Where are you in the Psalm poster.

This years RHS Chelsea Flower Show will have a very special display. The garden has been designed for The Bible Society and takes us on a journey through the psalm to a restful destination. You can find out more about the Psalm23 garden here

There are lots of resources if you want to make you’re own Psalm 23 garden too. Maybe we could have one at church?

Don’t forget Sunday 25th July and Sunday 22nd August are our Oasis services and we will be back in person for the August service. I might need some help with that one and it would be lovely if anyone wanted to share any of your Psalm Adventures……

Have a wonderful adventuring summer in the Psalms.
