May Ball 2017

Elegance and refinement mingled with high spirits and hilarity at the May Ball on Saturday May 6th.  Amongst the exquisite finery there were some definitely Regency style outfits and all were greatly enhanced by the imaginatively decorated masks. Stately dancing, veering towards the more lively and chaotic,  was chosen from this age and ably led by Howard Ballard and his musicians.

Thanks go to Irene and Linda for providing drinks of non-alcoholic sangria and a delicious cold repast at the interval. These were conveyed to the guests by the butler, Sam Mutton, and his excellent team of waiters: Chloe, Ellie,  Owen and Jamie. Thanks to a small profit, plus tips on the night, £235 was raised towards their Mission to Moldova.

Thanks are also due to Pete and Chris Clarke who transformed the church into a ballroom by means of lighting and drapes, Paul Cook , our polished Master of Ceremonies and Mike (have you seen the outfit?) Blackmun for another set of entertaining quizzes.

Most of all thanks to all the guests for making it such a good evening!
