Rendezvous

Rendezvous members & team 130917

Rendezvous is a group that was set up to provide a place for people over 60 to meet together for company and friendship, occasionally we have a meal together and we celebrate members birthdays with a cake and a card. Sometimes we have a talk or a demonstration or make things, nothing very complicated, if I can make it anyone can.

Celebrating 35 years of Rendezvous at St. James Church Woodley Berkshire 180616

We meet in the church lounge at 10.30am on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. The people who are involved in the running of the group are all members of the church, and we try to give a friendly listening ear to people’s  problems, but most of all we have fun and enjoy each other’s company

On the 2nd Wednesday of the month the church has a morning Communion Service at 10am, which some members of Rendezvous attend.

People who need transport are collected and taken home by volunteers from the church.

We try to have a varied and happy program and it is a very relaxed place to be, with good humour and kindness being our main aim. People need to feel valued, especially when we get older and lonelier and the aim of our group is to be a place where people can make friends and know their worth.

We welcome you and your friends to our group in Jesus name and look forward to seeing you at one or many of our meetings.

We ask for a donation of £1 per person per session towards running costs.

Welcome back I hope you all had a blest Easter and enjoyed the lovely weather. After the sadness of losing 2 of our dear friends Gillian and Margaret it will be hard to enjoy the following program, but I am sure that they would be the first to encourage us to laugh and have fun, so I hope that you will find something this term to lift your spirits. There will of course be the Strawberries and Cream morning to look forward to; we look forward to seeing you all.
