Lent @ home

Lent is often a time to give up or take up something but it feels like we’ve been in Lent for the past year. So this Lent why not be kind to yourself and those around you.

Lent is a time to pause, prepare, to make our minds and hearts ready for remembering Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.

Here is a collection of ideas for you to browse and choose one – yes, I recommend just one! – thing to try out this Lent / Easter, with the promise that you’re not going to use it to beat yourself over the head with if you don’t do it every day.

Think about what you like doing as a family, do you need something easy or challenging, what part of your faith are you wanting to grow.. If you find that it is only you who wants to ‘do something’ that’s ok. Its important that as parents we take time to grow and nuture our faith too and that our children see that too.

If you have a copy of The Jesus Storybook bible this guide gives you a story a night to read together. It’s God’s big rescue plan – why Jesus came and how much he loves us.

If you want to make the most of your ‘daily walks’, why not bring God with you using these ‘Wonder Walks’. There is one for each week of Lent and some additional ones for Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I’ve included the first 3 here but use the link above to find more.
