Easter Sunrise

“He is not here! He is risen!” – Luke 24:6

This is just a short act of worship to celebrate with the worldwide Church our risen Lord Jesus on this glorious Easter morning! Below you will find a joyful song of worship about the beauty and victory of Jesus – it’s one of my favourites – and a prayer of thanksgiving to say together as we see the light of this new day. Jesus is alive, he has conquered death, and the world will never be the same again.

Alleluia, Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed, alleluia!
Song of Worship
Lyrics
Come and stand before your Maker, full of wonder, full of fear
Come behold His power and glory, yet with confidence draw near
For the one who holds the heavens and commands the stars above
is the God who bends to bless us with an unrelenting love.

Rejoice, come and lift your hands and raise your voice,
He is worthy of our praise.
Rejoice, sing of mercies of your King
and with trembling, rejoice!

We are children of the promise, the beloved of the Lord
Won with everlasting kindness, bought with sacrificial blood
Bringing reconciliation to a world that longs to know
the affections of a Father who will never let them go.

All our sickness, all our sorrows, Jesus carried up the hill
He has walked this path before us, he is walking with us still:
Turning tragedy to triumph, turning agony to praise
There is blessing in the battle, so take heart and stand amazed

Rejoice, when you cry to Him He hears your voice,
He will wipe away your tears!
Rejoice, in the midst of suffering
He will help you sing.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Spend a moment in prayer giving thanks to Jesus, then say -
God of glory, by the raising of your Son
you have broken the chains of death and hell:
fill your Church with faith and hope;
for a new day has dawned and the way to life stands open
in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen!

Please join us at 10:30am for our act of Easter worship.
